180 Titles!

I’ll take a moment to explain how the rental library works at the moment. So I don’t have to code/design each individual tape, I’m using what’s called an image atlas.

Basically what this does is tell blender that there are 9 rows and 10 columns in this image. For every subsequent tape, select one set of coordinates. D2 for example is Men in Black. This is a way for blender to only have to load one image for 90 titles rather than one for each individual title.

You’ll also notice that this is just the front and one side of the box, because the tapes aren’t actually moving, I’m able to save processing by reusing the front and side for all four sides of the box.

So for the new image below, I’ve doubled our number of titles by adding a second atlas, taking our floor from 90 to 180 random titles.

And Critters 2? Best kids movie ever!
